HB 107
Contact the House State Administration Committee and ask them to table HB 107
(mill levy election laws)
The committee may vote as early as Friday, so send this message before Friday at 8 a.m.
Local mill levies fund law enforcement and dispatch services who keep communities safe. Requiring a 2/3 vote will prevent mill levies from passing, eliminating our ability to protect Montana families. Mill levy elections work just fine the way they are now, and there's no reason to mess with them. Local governments should have local control. This is government overreach at its worst.
Just speak from your heart, tell your story, and ask for the committee to oppose this awful bill requiring a 2/3 vote to pass the levies that fund public safety.
A list of committee members can be located below.
If your local legislator is a committee member, a phone call is in order. Just tell them the same exact thing you sent the committee, and let them know you live in their district! Remember to thank them for their service. We all like to hear "thank you." Let us know if they respond!
Together, we can help the MT legislature do the right thing by its public employees!
