Sadly, today, the Senate concurred with HBs 325 and 357.
HB 325 (M. Regier) – Repeals a local government’s power to regulate the carrying of concealed weapons and authorizes a person with a concealed weapon permit to carry anywhere in public buildings including schools.
HB 357 (M. Regier) – Legislative Referendum – same intent as HB 325 but not subject to gubernatorial veto.
So, HB 325 will soon be on the governor’s desk to dispose of as he wishes. I am betting he vetoes it. Just a bet.
Unfortunately, absent a successful preemptive challenge or some other judicial event, HB 357, a legislative referendum, will be on the general election ballot in November 2020.
More later. There will for sure be more . . . later.
