Monday, March 25, Senate Finance and Claims will hear SB 338 (Gauthier/Cohenour) - Montana Museums Act: Provides funding for Montana Heritage Center with a 1% tax increase in accommodations tax
SB 338 creates the Montana Museums Act that provides funding for the construction and maintenance of the Montana Heritage Center (and other museum and historical sites around the state) through the adoption of a 1% increase in the existing 3% accommodations tax.
Easy tax to collect. Accommodations industry seems to be on board. If we believe Montana has a history to preserve, study, and display, then this is the bill to pass.
Please urge the committee to support SB 338.
